Search Field Weighting
The search fields weighting displays the catalog fields that are searched by the intelligent search and how strongly they are included in the result calculation. It is defined which catalog fields are searched exactly or fault-tolerant. The weights are taken into account when ranking the search results.
The search field weighting indicates how the catalog fields of the product catalog (data feed) imported by epoq are searched by the intelligent search:
Exact
Fields that are searched exactly will only return one result if the entered search term matches exactly the value of the field. This setting should be used mainly for ID fields such as product ID, EAN, manufacturer number, etc.
Fault tolerant
Fault-tolerant fields are soft-searched using the epoq algorithms. Incorrect spellings of individual words within the set absolute and relative error tolerance nevertheless lead to search hits.
Weighting
The weighting of each field indicates how important the fields are in the fault-tolerant search. Search terms found in higher-weighted fields usually cause the products on the search results page to come before the products where the search term was found in a lower-weighted catalog field. However, the weighting does not only play a role in the order of the products. It can also influence the score of a product to fall below the fault tolerance threshold, even if the spelling is correct.
Faceted Filter
In the Control Desk you can see the current configuration of the faceted filters as they are displayed in your shop. The catalog field shows what will be filtered by clicking the faceted filter on the search results page.
The catalog field, from the product catalog (data feed) imported by epoq, shows you what the search result can be filtered.
Field typeThe field type column specifies the data type for the filter / sort options, d. H. whether numerically (i.e., larger / smaller via a slider) or textual filtering.
SortingThe sorting of the filter values indicates the order in which the values or values of the respective filter should be displayed in the shop. i.e., if filter values are sorted by frequency, the filter option comes first with the most results. Alternatively, however, can also be sorted alphabetically, z. i.e., the filter for the brand.
Sorting
In the Control Desk you can see the overview of the fields that are available in the sort box. The catalog field shows what will be sorted by selecting an option on the search results page.
